A 50% deposit is required before beginning the design process, with the final balance due once all designs have been approved and before going to print. Pricing does not include postage, tax (7%), or shipping unless otherwise noted. Payment can be made via check or credit. Keep in mind, payment made with credit will incur a 3.25% processing fee.
What is the turn-around for custom letterpress?
Custom letterpress takes a minimum of 4 weeks to proof, print, and ship. Simple stationery orders generally remain within this 4 week time frame, while extremely custom orders can take up to 8 weeks to proof, print, and ship.
Custom wedding invitations take a minimum of 8 weeks to proof, print and ship due to their tendency to include multiple pieces and special details such as hand-lettering, custom addressing and envelope liners. These orders require more handwork and attention to detail which requires more time. Wedding invitations are mailed 6-8 weeks before your wedding. We allow 2-3 weeks for addressing and stuffing, so final approvals are needed 1 month before mailing for flat printing and 2 months before mailing for letterpress.
Will my wedding invitations come assembled?
We take pride in assembling each one of our custom letterpress invitation suites by hand.
Can I rush my custom letterpress order?
Letterpress printing is an art and Cake takes great care to ensure the utmost quality. Please give yourself enough time. Any order placed less than 4 weeks prior to your desired mail date is considered a rush. If you're in a hurry, rush requests can be accommodated for a 40% upcharge. A time frame must be agreed upon before an order is placed.
How does the ordering process work?
It's crucial to establish the style of your wedding before beginning your invitation design. I want the design of your suite to coordinate with your upcoming event and represent you as a couple. The best way to do so is with the details of your wedding! In your initial proposal, we will discuss your overall vision for your paper products. Be prepared with your color palette and inspirational images - This ensures a cohesive aesthetic throughout your wedding.
Once a deposit has been received and you've submitted your desired verbiage, you will receive a digital proof within 7–10 business days. Next, we'll work together to reach a final draft. Once you've approved the final design proof(s), your remaining balance will be collected and all items will go to print.
